About Us

Hi we are Tony and Steph based on the Devon/Dorset border near Lyme Regis. We live in a tiny home about the size of a postage stamp along with our cat, dog and occasional rescue duck. (For some reason baby ducks seem to know where to find us)

Devon Fox is our little business and was born from the need of a present...

Tony and I had been together a little while when he sent me a weaved ring he'd made (he sails and was a scout so is good with a knot!) I loved it and it planted a seed... So he taught himself how to make jewellery so he could send me something for my birthday (I was still living in London at the time) He'd found a new passion and as is his way, he read and researched (and still does) all he can to add to his skill set.

Everything he made me after that was admired and people keep saying 'He should make things to sell' So we devised a business name... combining my everlasting love of Michael J Fox (somehow he manages to filter into all aspects of me life!) and the beautiful place we live makes for a rather catchy business name.

During lockdown while sitting in some glorious sunshine the idea of the candles emerged. Upcycling beer (we might have been drinking one at the time) and wine bottles as the vessels for some beautifully scented soy wax.  We'd bought a selection of printers trays at auction the previous year that came with lots of 'Type' so we set about finding a letter press printer to use the type and create our labels. Fragrances were named for Lyme Regis landmarks after Tony commented 'That smells like posh ladies who lunch' The Alexandra candle was born and the others followed swiftly after.

Adding the next string to our bow in spring of 2023 we branched out into laser cutting and engraving. We now have 3 different lasers and are able to do a wide variety of gifts and keepsakes. Constantly learning, evolving and adapting.

We have done many a craft market (and possibly will do again in the future) but are currently focussing on the wholesale side of the business.

We moved into a new workshop in February 2024 (the tiny home had reached capacity!) Tony decorated with fairy lights and Ivy to take away its industrial look and its now named The Grotto! A perfect creative space.

So, that's the work side, now meet the family...

This is our Otis. Leader of the pack, he keeps everyone in line. He likes his routine and he'll certainly make sure you don't forget it! (Unless there's a hedge trimmer buzzing or a low flying Chinnock... then he'll be found in hiding in his rather large brown paper bag on the bed!)

This is Mack. Our lovable lunatic of a Patterdale. More energy than even he knows what to do with but just look at that face! He came to live with us in January of 2022 at 12 weeks old. He was re-homed from a first floor flat with 3 young children and multiple moggies... our house maybe tiny but we are lucky to have a bit more outdoor space for him here.

Ivy, Bramble and Willow were the first babies to find us in March of 2021. They obviously put the word out and Laurel, Poppy and Fig 'landed' in June 2023. Lots of photos and videos on our Instagram page devonfox_uk  (yes we know it should be all about the business but the babies tend to take over!)

They have all grown big and strong and despite our best attempts at making home the best place ever (swimming pools, ramps, surf boards... endless supplies of worms!)  they've all stretched their wings and flown the coop!

That's us... The brains and the creative talent are both Tony... I'm just along for the ride and I'm enjoying everything we manage to create together and we hope you do too!
